LEARNING TO KITESURF WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE. Learn to love the wind it is a gift from mother nature.

 

You will be taught by Ryan Coote 3 times Irish kitesurfing champion and international wave competitor he is a BKSA (Britsh kitesurfing Association). Ryan has nearly 20yrs kitesurfing experience 16yrs teaching experience and has taught and 1000's of students taught at locations all over the world. In Ireland, we use a few different locations on the Dingle peninsular so we can keep teaching in the different wind directions all throughout the year. We supply helmets with inbuilt speakers so Ryan can keep in contact with you at all times in and out of the water. We supply everything you need except the wetsuits and neoprene boots which you may need to keep your warm and your feet safe in the water.

  • Kitesurf Lesson Locations in Ireland

    Here is a list of locations for both advanced lessons and beginner lessons.

    Brandon Bay a superb and safe location with excellent options for all levels.

    For beginners  lessons we mainly go to Scraggane.

    For freestyle lessons and for the beginner lessons the first few hours in Scraggane are a must..

    Brandon Bay works really well for wave riding the location changes depending on swell 

    and wind direction.

    In the same day you can go for a onshore session or a Cross off shore session.

    In SW winds down winders from Gowlane to dumps is a great opition.

    Ventry Beach

    This is a world class place to learn to kitesurf.

    Ventry has lovely flat and shallow water. It is a very quite beach.

    Making it a really good place to really push yourself in a safe environment.

  • Your first introduction to Kite flying.

    Learning:

    • How to select the right location to fly a kite safely with respect for all other beach and water users.
    • ALL aspects of  flying kites safely 
    • The basic skill of kite control and handling kitesurfing equipment. 
    • How the wind and the surrounding environment effects you and your kite. 

    Once we have covered the above you will have ample time to put into practice your newly learnt skills.

  • Kitesurf Lesson 1  (avg. 3 to 4 hrs)

    Once you have covered the kite introduction, you are ready to learn more skills:

    • Handling kites in the water assisted and unassisted.
    • Launching, landing and recovery of the kite.
    • First power moves with the kite in the water.

    Then Practice, Practice, Practice.!!!!!!!

  • Kitesurfing Lesson 2 (avg. 3 to 4 hrs)

    Practicing and refining the skills learnt in Lesson One.

    Working on techniques needed for the first board start in the water. 

    These will include:

    • Flying the kite in the power zone.
    • Flying the kite with one hand. 
    • Body dragging up wind.
    • Kite relaunching. 

    Then Practice, Practice, Practice.!!!!!!!

  • Lesson Three (avg. 3 to 4 hrs).

    This lesson is all about recapping, building and perfecting the techniques learnt in the previous lessons.

    Correcting any re-occurring  difficulties identified, either by the learner or by the instructor.  

    There will also be an opportunity to discuss your individual needs.

              i.e. Purchasing New or Used equipment 

                    Rental equipment.

                    Continuing Lessons. (Advanced, Tours, Holidays)

    To enjoy kitesurfing to the max your confidence in your skills, your equipment and yourself are the most important tools that you will bring to the water. I will provide you with all of these in the most professional and enjoyable manner. 

    But, remember :

What to bring with you,

  • You will need to bring a towel,
  • swimming trunks/shorts,
  • sunscreen (50+),
  • some sturdy footwear i.e trainers (for land-based kiting) and you may want to bring some sunglasses too.
  • if you have your own wetsuit then do bring it with you.
  • Also please bring cash with you as we cant take cards.
  • We don't supply wetsuits but they can be rented locally. This needs to be done before the lesson.
