Short kiteboarding coaching camps to help you reach the next level whether you are looking to improve your freestyle or your wave riding.
Time:
Each session is 3 hours long and there are 2 sessions per day. You can join in both if you like.
Numder of spaces :
5 spaces are available per session ensuring a strong element of individual attention without overwhelming amounts of information.
Dates:
The Irish Short Burst Tour runs all year round. Have a look at the list of locations and dates. I hope you can find one that suits you.
Teaching Technique :
We use a mixture of hands on beach & water work .Weather permitting video footage shot will be shot in the water and out. These can be analyzed and worked on at a later date. There is a world of tricks and skills that are within everyone's grasp with just a little bit of coaching.

Conditions you need to have you own gear and insurance through the IKSA or similar
organization.
Basic Freestyle Short Burst Session
Minimum level required – competent ability to stay upwind
Moves covered on course –
- first jumps,
- rotations,
- grabs,
- raileys,
- kite loops,
- blind.
N.B. All moves are hooked in.
Basic Wave Short Burst Session
Minimum level required – competent ability to stay upwind on a twin tip or waveboard.
Skills covered on course –
- riding a waveboard,
- forehand and backhand,
- executing turns and gybing.
- Also covered surf zones, etiquette, rescue techniques, size, forecasting and reading parts of the waves.
Upper Freestyle Short Burst Session
Minimum level required – front loops, back loops, raileys.
Skills covered on course –
- kite loops,
- first time unhooking,
- unhooked rotations,
- unhooked raileys,
- surface handle passes,
- unhooked kite loops.
Upper Wave Short Burst Session
Minimum level required – competent ability to ride a waveboard, make heelside to toeside carves 99% of the time and ability to ride waves.
Skills covered on course –
- riding in bigger waves,
- rescue techniques,
- linking turns and finishing manoeuvres,
- making sections,
- floaters,
- unhooked wave riding.
- Also covered is types of breaks and where to find them.
Advanced Freestyle Short Burst Session
Minimum level required – ability to rotate and kite loop unhooked.
Moves covered –
- Air handle passes,
- unhooked blind,
- wrapped and powered passes.
N.B Due to the technical nature of advanced freestyle prior discussion is essential to ensure suitability for both rider and coach.
