Ryan Sept Fun.

Ryan Coote Reporting. Very very lucky to score these session on the west coast of ireland. My session started at 7.05 am so the sun is not fully up yet. launching in a field and dancing over slime rocks to get to beautiful long clean waves on my 6m Reo Ozone Kites and 5,8 Gasp from AOR Surfboards . It really goes with out saying the gear i use makes sessions like these so so enjoyable.

The latest advancement for me is using a XT jay harness. It is comfortable, strong but most importantly it gives me maxim movement with my body and board without over handling of the kite.

Thanks so so much to Andy @ Troggs surf shop for the pics. I though it was just going to me and birds enjoying the waves.

icons/surfer.jpgSURFERS

Surfplugs® are a custom moulded ear plug developed for surfers. Surfplugs® help to prevent Surfers Ear & infections by keeping your ears snug and toasty even in the heaviest of surf.

icons/canoeist.jpgKAYAKERS & CANOEISTS

Rolling & white water kayaking in colder water temperatures is enough to develop Surfers Ear. Surfplugs® will also assist in reducing the risk of ear infection associated  with poor river water quality.

icons/windsurfer.jpgWINDSURFERS

Surfers Ear is caused both by cold water & the effect of wind blowing over the surface of the ear. Windsurfers are particulalry prone to Surfers Ear problems. Surfplugs® provide the ultimate solution.

icons/kiteboarder.jpgKITESURFERS

Surfplugs® provide the ultimate defence from wind & water entering the ear canal & will also reduce the risk of eardrum perforation (rupture) from water impacts associated with the sport of kitesurfing.

icons/swimmer.jpgSWIMMERS

Surfplugs® are suitable for heated pools & all types of open water swimming. Surfplugs® will assist in preventing ear infections & 'swimmers ear' (ear canal inflamation).

icons/wakeboarder.jpgWAKEBOARDERS

Surfplugs® reduce the risk of developing ear infections from dirty river water & also help to prevent eardrum perforations (rupture) caused by hitting the water at speed.

icons/diver.jpgDIVERS

Due to the problems of equalising, Surfplugs® are NOT recommended for SCUBA diving or free diving & should NOT be used for this type of sport.

A kite surfer has flown into the record books by sailing 275 miles from France to Ireland.

Bruno Sroka set off from the Penn Enez beach at l'Aber Wrac'h in Brittany at 6.25am on Friday morning and hit land in Co Cork more than 16 and a half hours later.

The 240 nautical mile (275 miles) kite surf challenge saw him reach Crosshaven at 10.02pm on Friday night, making him the first man to complete the journey.

"It was very difficult but today I feel proud of what I have done. I had rather good wind during the biggest part of the crossing and the last part of it was the hardest one," he said.

"The wind was dying rapidly and I was obliged to change the boards that I was riding. No matter what, all that counts is to arrive to the finish line."

After 16 hours and 37 minutes at sea, he was greeted by around a dozen boats in Cork harbour as the light began to fade.
