KItesurf Ireland has know got it very own live weather station here on the dingle peninsula.

We now have a live weather station giving the people around Kerry real up to date wind strength and wind direction reports.

This will help people who are learning to kitesurf here in Brandon bay and Ireland. As it can be really hard to call if it is windy or not now their is no guessing

Thanks to kitesurf Ireland and On target web design we now have a live weather station in Brandon Bay on the South West Coast of Ireland.

Everyone from surfers, windsurfers, kite surfers, sailors, beach walkers will benefit from being up-to-date with what the weather is doing.

This will make it easier for people to check wind direction and strength and also temperature. It will help people with the cost of fuel and telephone bills.

If you are had trouble getting enough water time this year gone by why don't you improve your chances of getting in the water by learning to kitesurf here in Ireland.

there are hundreds of beaches dotted around the South Southwest and West coasts which are both perfect for surfing and kite surfing.

The quality of the kites have has improved massively in the last 2 to 3 years, if you are looking at getting out in light winds For most people all you need is a 10m kite. if you are a surfer already you have a wetsuit and a surfboard. All you need to do to become a kite surfer is get a lesson from a qualified competent instructor and get yourself a harness and a good kite.

lessons start from €40 an hour for a group lesson,

€200 for 8 hours,

€300 for unlimited time 0 to hero.

If you want to make use of the time that you spend driving to the beach and not having a good surf because it's windy and onshore then pick up a kite and get out there.

Great Lesson had today here in dingle.

We had a day of kitesurfing lessons yesterday on Ventry beach Dingle.

We had south east winds so i was teaching over in Ventry beach. Ventry is a lovely shallow portected beach that is perfect cross shore in SE.

We managed to get 3 hours done in lovely sun shine before the rain hit. Both Micheal and Andrew got to give the Twin Tip a go for the first time.

Boots are off

I love the winters here in ireland but i also love the first few southerly air flows that we get. It feels like a hairdryer blow warm air down form the mountains.
It has been a awesome winter this year really amazing swells coming in not much wind with them but loads of waves for surfing.
So when this lovely South Wester came through it was a delight to finally pumpedPuhuto up my new 011 9m Ozone C4s, board of choice was the 4 fin 5,10 Puhuto wave machine. It is more of a big wave board as the power it holds is unreal. But i have only had a few smaller days out with light winds so i wanted to get it out and throw some buckets with it.
I really liked the combo the new C4s are very light on the bar making it a pleasure to cracking them into turns at the last minute the board has unreal grip so much it nearly throws you off some times at the end of the turn. I cant wait to try it on some bigger days.

The ski was amazing there was a solid line of sun on the beach with really warm air and about 700m out to sea it got colder and colder and the sun was not showing at all.
It was a only a quick session as the wind turned more off shore as the day went on but all and all a great first session at the beach. I still prefer reef though.!! : )
